Among Intel’s upcoming fourteenth-generation processors is the Core i9 14900T. This processor is clearly aimed at energy efficiency.
Via the Geekbench 6 database.
Single core: 3,019 pts
Multi core: 16,385 pts
With this performance, it can compete with AMD’s 65W offering… Notably the Ryzen 9 7900 non-X, which boasts 2,823 pts and 16,750 pts respectively in single and multi-core. However, compared with AMD’s CPU, these scores are achieved at higher power consumption.
There’s a world of difference when it comes to features. In turbo mode, the 14900T reaches 5.5 GHz vs. 6 GHz, while the base frequency is 1.1 GHz vs. 3.2 GHz for the K version. Similarly, the TDP (PL2) is just 106W vs. 253W for the other Intel processor.
This model, although announced in January by Intel, is still not commercially available. It could prove interesting in a compact machine where high power consumption is to be avoided.
