Alan Wake features three new perks inspired by his experiences in Bright Falls and the Dark Place.
Champion of Light – This allows Alan Wake to gain movement speed when shining a flashlight. Blinding a Killer with a flashlight inflicts them with the Hindered status effect, debuffing their movement speed.
Boon: Illumination – This perk creates a Boon Totem that grants all nearby Survivors the ability to see the auras of generators and chests on the map. A lit Boon Totem also allows players to cleanse and bless Totems with increased speed.
Deadline – Alan’s last perk, Deadline triggers when Alan is injured, boosting the frequency of skill checks while healing Survivors or repairing generators.
Missing a check while Deadline is active will reduce the penalty by half. A new limited time mode titled ‘Lights Out’ has also been introduced with this update.
Beginning February 7th, Trial maps using the Lights Out modifier will be shrouded in darkness. No loadouts, no terror radius, no scratch marks. This should add a “terrifying new layer of fear” to the Dead by Daylight trial experience. The Lights Out modifier will be available through February 14th.
