The trailer shows off a variety of different weapons the protagonist will employ in Rise of the Ronin, including katanas, spears, bayonets, firearms such as rifles and pistols, and more.
Rise of the Ronin will be markedly different in approach from Team Ninja’s more recent soulslike Nioh titles. Rise of the Ronin will be more traditional with difficulty options for players at different skill levels.
The game will also feature online co-op for up to three other players, though this feature will require a PlayStation Plus membership.
Rise of the Ronin launches on March 22 exclusively on the PlayStation 5. No PC version has been announced, but given both Sony and Team Ninja’s track records, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a PC port surface at some point in the future.
