As you know, for safety reasons, the cablemod brand has initiated a massive recall of its adapters. This concerns versions 1.0 and 1.1 of the product in question… And this applies to both A and B versions, from 90° to 180°.
In the wake of this recall, the Consumer Product Safety Comission in the USA has stepped in. The latter has also ordered a recall of these adapters. The danger is that the male connector becomes loose. Over time, a gap is created, the adapter overheats and melts into the female connector of the graphics card. This can lead to a fire.
What we didn’t know was that 25,300 of these adapters were sold. Since this is an American commission, we assume that these are US sales. As for the damage to the cards, this amounts to $74,500, while 272 incident reports have been filed by the brand. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
