RuneScape is looking ahead. The team announced they’re going “back to basics” and changing their development practices to share more openly what the team is up to and incorporate community feedback more closely. In doing so, they also released a new roadmap update for the shorter term.
The next few months will feature not only new content, but Jagex is also planning a new Player Voice survey over the coming weeks to help them in this shift in their development. As for that new content, this month will bring a new Quest in the later part of the month.
In May, there will be a focus on the Community Hitlist, their community-feedback repository with changes and additions. They plan to focus on tackling a number of these requests, along with unveiling their next graphical update, the polish to Rellekka. Some of the Community Hitlist items have been in the works for some time, and they are asking for more feedback, but it seems May will be more focused on delivering.
Moving forward to June, there’s a new Summer event planned. With the Christmas Village and the revamped and expanded Easter event, it looks like Summer may be the next season to get something bigger and better from the team.
We can expect more dev diaries, livestreams, surveys, and, now that the team has closed the RuneScape forums, a greater focus on Discord and dev responses there too.
