RTX 4070 Super failed to break all sales records at its launch… And this, despite the presence of a more powerful GPU at a similar price to the original 4070. But what about the 4070 Ti Super? Here’s a 3DCenter compilation of MindFactory figures!
If we look at the number of sales at the time of the cards’ launch, we quickly realize that the RX 7800 XT has done very well. The German store sold 400 cards at its launch. In contrast, the RX 7700 XT completely flopped. A performance/price ratio far from ideal for gamers.
Still at AMD, it’s their latest model to date that’s also completely flopped: the RX 7600 XT. In layman’s terms, this card is a non-XT 7600, overclocked with 16 GB of memory. There’s no reference design here, only custom cards, which tends to drive prices up. In short, the ~30 units sold are justified.
Concerning the 4070 Ti Super now, as we can see, the card performs much better than AMD’s card. At launch, it sold between 280 and 300 units at MindFactory. Clearly, that’s not too bad, although the figures are still below those of the 7800 XT. A parallel can be drawn with the original 4070 Ti, which sold between 100 and 150 units more at launch.
