Introduction to Phanteks Polar ST Line
Phanteks has recently introduced its latest series of air-type CPU coolers under the Polar ST line. This series includes two models, the Polar ST4 (Chrome) and the Polar ST5 (Black). These new entries in the CPU cooling market feature aluminum fin-stack tower fan-heatsinks, promising efficient thermal management for high-performance systems.
Key Features of Polar ST4 and ST5
The Polar ST4 cooler is equipped with four nickel-plated copper heat pipes, capable of handling a thermal load of up to 235 W. In contrast, the Polar ST5 boasts a more premium design with a black powder-coated finish and a die-cast metal top plate. Additionally, the Polar ST5 includes five nickel-plated copper heat pipes, increasing its thermal load capacity to 255 W.
Advanced Cooling Fan
Both the Polar ST4 and Polar ST5 models feature a 120 mm fan, specifically the Phanteks M25-120 PWM DRGB. This conventional 25 mm-thick fan includes PWM control and addressable RGB lighting, with ARGB LEDs situated in the impeller hub. The fan operates at speeds ranging from 400 to 2,000 RPM, delivering up to 84.26 CFM of airflow at a static pressure of 2.67 mm H₂O. Despite its high performance, it maintains a maximum noise level of 35.7 dBA, ensuring quiet operation.
Additional Inclusions and Compatibility
Phanteks includes a thermal paste with 4.3 W/m-K thermal conductivity with both models, enhancing the overall cooling efficiency. The Polar ST4 and ST5 are compatible with a range of CPU socket types, including LGA1851, LGA1700, LGA1200, AM5, and AM4. Pricing details for these models have not been disclosed by the company as of yet.
