Team Group today unveiled its latest performance-segment M.2 NVMe Gen 5 SSD, the T-Force GC Pro. This new model shouldn’t be confused with the T-Force GE Pro, which was launched in January 2024, despite their almost identical appearances. The GC Pro is designed to provide high-speed storage solutions with a focus on affordability.
Technical Specifications
The T-Force GC Pro is powered by the same Innogrit ‘Tacoma’ IG5666 controller as the GE Pro but offers slightly reduced speeds. The GC Pro comes in two capacity variants: 2 TB and 4 TB. Both versions provide maximum sequential read speeds of up to 12,500 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 11,000 MB/s. In comparison, the flagship GE Pro offers higher maximum sequential reads of 14,000 MB/s but maintains the same write speeds.
Performance and Endurance
Designed to hit a lower price point, the T-Force GC Pro is set to compete against pre-Max14um Phison-powered SSD models. Both the 2 TB and 4 TB variants of the GC Pro offer identical sequential transfer speeds. However, they differ in endurance ratings, with the 2 TB model providing 1,200 TBW (terabytes written) and the 4 TB model offering an impressive 2,400 TBW. This endurance ensures long-term reliability for demanding applications.
Additional Features
Although a heatsink is recommended by the manufacturer for optimal performance, the T-Force GC Pro comes equipped with a graphene-coated metal-foil heatspreader. This feature aids in heat dissipation, maintaining the SSD’s performance under heavy workloads. The drives are backed by a 5-year warranty, adding an extra layer of assurance for potential buyers. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed by Team Group.
