Fugaku’s Stellar Performance
Meet Fugaku, the supercomputer that’s been winning hearts— and rankings— consistently! Developed collaboratively by RIKEN and Fujitsu, this powerhouse has dominated the high-performance computing landscape, holding the top position for an impressive ten consecutive terms across two major benchmarks: HPCG and Graph500 BFS. Isn’t that a feat worth celebrating?
A Deep Dive into the Rankings
On November 19, during the enlightening festivities of SC24 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Fugaku strut its stuff yet again. Not only did it reign supreme in HPCG, a ranking that reflects performance in real-world application computing methods, but it also took the coveted sixth spot in the Top500 list and the fourth in HPL-MXP. The competition was fierce, but Fugaku emerged unscathed.
Breaking Records and Pushing Boundaries
Graph500 is particularly interesting; it assesses systems through graph analytics, a crucial aspect of data-driven workloads. This round, a collaboration that included RIKEN,The Institute of Science Tokyo, Fixstars Corporation, NTT Corporation, and Fujitsu achieved an eye-popping score of 204.068 terateps. This impressive accomplishment, fueled by Fugaku’s 152,064 nodes, marked the first time a score over 200 terateps was recorded on the Graph500 benchmark— a celebratory first in the realm of high-performance computing, indeed!
