The Dune: Awakening team is revealing more peeks at the upcoming survival MMO based on the classic sci-fi franchise. This time, a short look at base building on Arrakis.
The team shared a video that showed just why Arrakis is a great setting for a survival MMORPG. First of all, the planet is vast, and a harsh place. The team even calls it the most dangerous planet in the universe. In addition to the political machinations and various factions that are at home there, the sand all over the desert planet certainly has something to offer in terms of danger and challenges.
It is something that you’ll have to keep in mind when building a base, since you’ll need to keep a supply of water. You may even have to go and collect water drop by drop by hand. the blazing hot sun will dehydrate you if you’re out there too long without water. This will impact your character, so it’s important to find a balance. you’ll need safe shelter, so building a base is going to be one of the earliest things you’ll want to do, as traditional with a survival game like this, because not only do you have to think about the sun, Arrakis has a lot of sand storms.
