Nvidia ready to favor AI chips: a boon for the competition?

Even if this story is still at the rumor stage, it’s far from far-fetched: Nvidia is said to be shifting its strategy to generate more sales with AI.

Nvidia ready to favor AI chips: a boon for the competition?
Still to be taken with a pinch of salt, a Korean media outlet reports that Nvidia has informed its partners that the supply of GPUs dedicated to gaming products will be considerably reduced in the near future, and that they should make arrangements.

This strategy is difficult to contest. It also has the interesting virtue of opening the door a little wider to competitors. But for AMD in particular, the equation will be much the same: how to divide the production envelope available to the brand at the foundry (aka TSMC) into consumer products and highly profitable products?

Intel seems to be in a much more favorable position… But only on paper, as it too will now have to arbitrate between “in-house” production and subcontracting its manufacturing lines to other companies… It’s worth noting, however, that a product designed and manufactured almost 100% in-house is undoubtedly much more profitable than going through TSMC.
