Introduction to MSI’s Latest Offerings
A week ago, MSI unveiled its latest lineup of custom GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card models. At the forefront was their premium Vanguard option, but MSI also catered to budget-conscious consumers with the Inspire 3X offering. It seems the Taiwanese manufacturer isn’t done yet; they have recently expanded their lineup further.
Introducing Shadow 2X Models
As noted by Videocardz, MSI has quietly added two new models to their NVIDIA “Blackwell” GB205 GPU stack: the Shadow 2X OC and the non-OC version. Both designs appeared on the company’s website without much fanfare. This hush-hush launch strategy resembles last month’s debut of the stealth-black GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti custom designs.
Shadow Series: Performance Meets Minimalism
The Shadow 2X design features a Torx 5.0 dual-fan cooling solution that promises to deliver a solid gaming experience. MSI characterizes this series as focused on the essentials, serving as a baseline MSRP-compliant product. The marketing blurb proudly claims that Shadow is “a performance-focused design that delivers the gaming experience players want.” However, as critics have pointed out, recent problems such as lack of MSRP models and price hikes at launch have raised eyebrows.
With the Shadow 2X models potentially in short supply, gamers better keep their eyes peeled. This newly expanded lineup gives them yet another option while navigating the often tumultuous waters of GPU availability and pricing in the current market.
