Silverstone Expands the FHX Line
Silverstone today unveiled the latest addition to its FHX series: the robust FHS140X. This 140 mm model marks a significant evolution in the range, which previously consisted of 80 mm and 120 mm versions. With its larger size, the FHS140X is primed to excel in various ventilation applications. Whether it’s for your rig, workstations, or even household appliances, this fan adds impressive versatility to its repertoire.
Key Features and Specifications
What sets the FHS140X apart is not just its size. With dimensions of 140 mm x 140 mm x 38 mm, it’s notably thicker than regular 140 mm fans, allowing for greater airflow potential. The design includes a grille at the intake, optimizing airflow while minimizing noise—a crucial consideration with its high RPM capabilities.
The fan’s impeller is crafted from liquid-crystal polymer (LCP), ensuring durability and efficiency, while the frame is composed of PBT. Performance-wise, the FHS140X operates at speeds between 800 and 3,400 RPM, delivering an impressive airflow capacity of up to 222.95 CFM. It achieves a static pressure of 10 mm H₂O and maintains a maximum noise level of only 50 dBA, making it a worthy addition for noise-sensitive environments.
Installation and Compatibility
The FHS140X is designed for easy installation, featuring a standard 4-pin PWM connection and a power draw of up to 13.2 W. Although pricing information hasn’t been disclosed yet, the anticipation surrounding its release is palpable. Whether you’re upgrading your current system or enhancing your appliance’s cooling, the FHS140X is poised to deliver outstanding performance.
