AMD has officially launched the Radeon RX 7800M mobile graphics card, marking an important addition to its lineup. Positioned between the flagship Radeon RX 7900M and the mid-range RX 7600M XT, the RX 7800M aims to fill a significant void in AMD’s mobile graphics offerings. This launch also marks the first appearance of the “Navi 32” GPU in the mobile platform.

Technical Specifications

The RX 7800M maximizes the “Navi 32” architecture by enabling all 60 compute units, yielding a total of 3,840 stream processors. However, it uses only three of the four available memory cache dies, resulting in a configuration similar to the desktop RX 7700 XT. It features 12 GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit memory bus, providing 48 MB of Infinity Cache.

Performance and Applications

With a game clock frequency of 2145 MHz and a memory bandwidth of 432 GB/s, the RX 7800M is tailored for performance-segment gaming notebooks and mobile workstations. This graphics card has a total graphics power (TGP) value of 180 W, similar to the RX 7900M, which has a TGP range of 180-200 W. The presence of 120 AI accelerators, 60 ray accelerators, 240 texture mapping units (TMUs), and 96 render output units (ROPs) further solidifies its standing as a capable performer in diverse graphical environments.
